It's a really nice matte paste. I have a very oily scalp, and my hair's very flat, so I love matte texture paste. I used it a lot when I had super short hair, which is what it's for, but I still use it now to get a little lift. This is a particularly nice one. It gives my hair a lot of volume. Since I have fine hair, that's not easy for most products.It isn't sticky or greasy, and becomes part of your hair. The texture if gives is a very light hold, and it's very flexible. The most important part is that it isn't super shiny, and so I feel it's very effective. It's easy to apply-- just rub between your fingers and apply it where you need it, starting with a dab and only adding more if you need it. A little goes a long way. The more you add, the better the hold and style, but I find it works well for a touch of volume if you use a small amount.It has a light cologne scent, very neutral and fresh. Also the tin looks so cool! I really like everything about it. I'd love to try the other strength holds as well.

My husband uses this sometimes and says it is comparable to his usual hair paste. It provides a firm hold but doesn’t make his hair crispy. It lasts all day and washes out fine. He prefers the other product because it has a softer consistency (almost gel-like), but this one is similar and has a nice scent. He likes that it is a good sized container (decent amount of product) and thinks it’s a good value.

A really good product! Ordered the paste. It’s true to description it does have a firm hold & matte finish. It is a really good holding product for short spikey hair like my bros. Not too greasy or sticky and works well on short hair. On the downside, it doesn’t smell too great but over all a good working product. Accurate description and cool label and design on container. Easy to apply and easy to wash off hands. You can tell this is a good quality product and well thought out.

Another great product from Jack The Barber. This time with an even stronger hold than the prior JTB product I was using. Goes on smooth with no clumping in your hair. It really feels like it will stay on your hands, but it all rubs off nicely into my hair. The hold is strong, but itnalso doesnt look like I have a can of hairspray in my hair. Natural with no flakes. RECOMMENDED!

This is an excellent hair product! This paste is paraben free, which I appreciate. Found this product after buying their exfoliant. (Which is also good btw) I’m normally an Uppercut guy but this one handles my fine hair a bit better. It doesn’t weigh my hair down and make it look plastered down to my head. My hair is a bit longer now so I need to use a bit more than I’d like for each application but it has the right hold and shine for me. Scent is light as well. All in all, happy I found this brand.

Got this for my son who has longer hair and typically styles with powder. This matte texture is good at providing hold for style without making the hair wet or crusty. A little bit goes a long way, and he's able to tousle his hair with a small dab of this, maybe two pea sizes, is roughly the amount he uses for his hair that curls just under his hair.

This is a great paste! The hold is good, not stiff, so it still has a little movement to it. Matte is perfect for not looking too greasy. It doesn't have a terrible smell which is always a plus. I had no adverse reactions to it and putting it in my hair has had no bad health effects so far. My only complaint is there is not a lot for the price. If this was a few bucks cheaper it would feel like more of a value
