I ordered this for my husband because he has been complaining a lot lately about having rough skin. And he loves it! He has been using it every day as part of his shower routine. I tried it for myself as well, but I feel like walnut shells are too harsh for my skin so I will stick to sugar scrubs.The scrub looks and feels so much like that apricot scrub that I used to use when I was a teenager, but has more of a light manly scent instead. It works much the same, using walnut shell pieces as the exfoliant, to really scrape those dead cells off. I do like the added shea butter because it soothes and softens your skin to counteract the rough treatment of the exfoliant. It has made a noticeable difference in my husband's skin. The smoothness and softness is much appreciated.You don't need very much product to apply to your entire face, so despite the container being quite small, it will last a long time, making this a reasonable value. We are so pleased that we are going to seek out other Jack The Barber products.

At first glance when dispensing the product from the container it looks very reminiscent of that I infamous apricot scrub we all used in the 90s and 00s. Fortunately, it is much more nourishing and way less harsh than that one that basically sand-blasted our skin. This facial scrub has a nice scent, it’s mild and fresh so it should be tolerable even to those who are sensitive to scents. The walnut shell bits are the exfoliant here and while yes, you can feel them in the scrub it does not feel like they scratch your face, rather gently exfoliate away dirt and dead skin. The creamy base of this scrub is what has me the most impressed, it is super silky feeling on the skin, I assume thanks to the shea butter and jojoba. It leaves the skin feeling nourished as well as hydrated. A little bit of this product goes a long way so try to dispense less than you think you actually need at first and add from there if necessary.

Jack the Barber’s face scrub is a thick face scrub with a consistency like tooth paste. The walnut exfoliating granules are large compared to other scrubs that I've used, so this scrub is only needed once or twice per week to remove dead skin and clean your pores rather than a daily use. I use about a quarter sized dollop for my face, so one tube will last for awhile.The scent is clean and classic, and it doesn't foam. The moisturizers included in the scrub keep my skin soft without feeling dry or tight. This scrub is a welcome addition to my skin routine.For a 5.1 fl oz tube, the value is excellent, especially considering how little you need per use. Simple to use, effective, and delivers real results. Definitely a staple in my grooming routine.

I found the crushed walnut shells the right consistency - not too rough and not too non-existent where I feel like I am scrubbing my face (gently!). I like the consistency, the smell and I feel fresh after washing my face!! The packaging is pleasing to the eye, had a sticker on the bottle (for freshness) which I removed to use of course!! As an animal lover, it says "vegan friendly" which I assume means it's better for the earth so yay!! Overall, I can see myself ordering this again or ordering this for friends!! I like. (4 stars is my average highest rating; 5 reserved for exceptional items that exceed expectations)

This has a good scent that is not obviously masculine. There are large beads for exfoliating, but that necessitates more through rinsing to completely rid yourself of them. It is not drying. Overall, my husband likes it but would prefer a more masculine scent (similar to the one he already has) for next time.

I recently ordered this Face Scrub, Exfoliates Skin with Walnut Shell, Unclogs Pores While Nourishing the Skin with Hemp Seed Oil and Shea Butter. Everyday use. 5.1 fl oz. and it came as described. Not too many products that offer walnut shell but this one does and it gets it right, bonus as it smells good too. Overall, a nice addition to the face wash game.

Got this for my husband, to help keep his skin in tip-top shape, (but I have been using it too, because IT IS THAT GOOD!)So, this is a face scrub by Jack the Barber, that you use a few times a week, as part of your normal skincare routine—to remove dirt and impurities from your skin. You basically wet your hands and face, apply a tiny amount, rub in a circular motion, and rinse off with warm water…easy peasy…revealing wonderfully glowy, smooth skin!The secret lies in the walnut shells, which work their exfoliating power magic, and shea butter, jojoba, hemp oil, and aloe, all age-old, good-for-your-skin ingredients, and definitely why it feels so amazing on your skin while you are using it, even after you rinse it off!It has a nice masculine “after shave” scent, which really smells phenomenal. It isn’t overly strong, or over-powering, so love that too!Besides the benefits you get with using this exfoliant, the best part is that it isn’t tested on animals, is vegan-friendly, and has no parabens whatsoever, so this is definitely skincare you can feel good about!I would definitely order this again because of the exfoliating benefits and how good my skin looks and feels after using this!

The Jack the Barber Face Scrub does a good job to exfoliate the skin. It uses walnut shell but it does seem more gentle than expected. It uses hemp seed oil and shea butter which moisturizes the skin well. My husband says it made his skin feel smoother even after just the first use. It has a mild masculine scent to it. I think the price is reasonable at 12 dollars. It has a safety seal under the cap. It arrived quickly and leak free.

My husband uses a scrub to prevent ingrown hairs when he shaves his face. A good physical scrub works great - keeps the skin smooth and prevents those annoying clogged follicles that sometimes pop up where the hair can get trapped and needs to be tweezed out. This particular scrub is a great, grainy thick paste, but the paste itself has the consistency of a whipped butter almost. Very smooth and rich, while the walnut shell particles scour away flaky skin and clogs. It smells fantastic and I love the way his face smells after he uses this, not to mention how smooth it feels. This stuff is very effective, rinses away well and the shea butter keeps the skin nourished. Excellent scrub!

It works well enough, but its got fairly big pieces of walnut that are few and far between. Maybe good for some folks, but compared to St. Ives daily face scrub the exfoliation is much gentler

I like the product but the fragrance is like an old ladies perfume. I can't understand why it wouldn't have a nutty smell. Truly terrible.

It’s good, I like it. Light powdery smell and a good value for the price. Selfishly, I want more shells in mine. I’m assuming some tubes may have more than others and this tube is just light on the exfoliant. I will buy again in the future.

Nice exfoliating scrub that leaves skin feeling smooth without being overly harsh. The texture helps unclog pores and rinses clean without residue. A good everyday option for basic skincare routines. It has walnut in it so definitely don’t use if you’re allergic to tree nuts.

I ordered this for my husband to try, because he's been complaining about dry skin in his beard lately. After getting impatient for him to tell me his thoughts on the product, I decided to try it myself. The first time I used it I definitely felt it made my face feel incredibly soft, but it also left a residue that almost felt like wax. I wasn't sure how I felt about that, but I did notice that my skin felt soft for days without using as much moisturizer as normal.I asked my husband if he noticed it helping his dry skin and he said not really. He's not a big fan- he feels like it does make his skin softer in areas without facial hair, but it didn't address the dry skin problem and he isn't thrilled with the scent. To me, the scent just smells like soap... like the base found in handcrafted goats milk soap. I find the exfoliation to be enough to feel it but not so much that it leaves skin more sensitive after use. The more I use the scrub, the less I experience the waxy feeling. I'd give it 5 stars, my husband gives it 3. Because our experiences are so different, I averaged them to give it 4 stars.

The scrub has a very mild scent, but it's very nice and it leaves your face feeling very clean. Personally, I would have liked more of the walnut shell. It didn't feel like it was exfoliating, more like a gentle scratching. Not in a bad way, it feels nice, but it just seems like there should be more. Is also say that after washing with it, my skin felt dry. Maybe that's normal, and everyone is different, so in general, not bad, but it won't make me a repeat customer.

Although it does scrub the beard area decently, it left a soap residue feel afterwards and I didnt particularly like the smell of it. I did notice that after awhile of using it that I didnt have ingrown hairs like I used to so that is a positive.

I enjoy using face scrub that has ground up walnuts for exfoliation/scrubbing. This does have them in it, and works especially well around the nose and behind the ears to more easily get dirt and remove dried skin. I think it could stand to have more in it, but it works fine as is. The scent is light and leaves my face feeling clean.

This face exfoliator is surprisingly thick—a little goes a long way. You really only need about half the size of a dime to cover your whole face. It has a great, fresh 'barbershop' scent and lathers up better than most scrubs I’ve tried.The texture is quite coarse due to the walnut shell powder, so it’s excellent for removing dead skin, but I wouldn’t recommend it for daily use. Despite the deep exfoliation, the hemp seed oil and shea butter keep my skin from feeling stripped or tight afterward. At 5.1 fl oz, it’s a great value for the price. Highly recommended!

​Feels really nice on skin. The walnut shell is finely ground so it doesn't feel scratchy, and it hasn't caused any issues with my sensitive skin. I love the 5.1oz size, it's a good amount of product for the price. It leaves my pores feeling clear and my skin feeling hydrated.

I use a face scrub when I shower, so I was excited to try a new scrub and see if it surpassed my go-to Nivea Men's face scrub. My thoughts on how this compares.- Scrubbing. The walnut shells do a good job of exfoliating, and I don't find them too harsh though I imagine those with very sensitive skin might.- Cleaning. My skin feels clean after use. That said, I can tell a difference between products with shea butter vs. though that don't, e.g. Cetaphil. I much prefer the non-butter feel as I have mildly oily skin and don't need the extra moisture.- Price. About 50% more expensive than the Nivea scrub. Not boutique brand pricing but definitely an upcharge.- Country of Origin. Made in China. Admittedly, I'm not terribly comfortable with putting Made in China products on or in my body.In the end, would I buy this face scrub again? Likely no, though not because it is inherently bad, it just doesn't surpass my go-to Nivea Men's scrub, costs a lot more, and is made in China. Finally, I would say this is targeted more at men needing a bit more moisturizing than other scrubs/washes.
